A photograph of Roy's Diamond Center on Main Street, Galax, VA taken at sunset during a walk around town on August 11, 2016. It was a spectacular sunset that afternoon and I just happened to be at the right place at the right time.
Warm Up Session
I'm quite proud of this photo taken with my iPhone 4s. It turned out quite nice as Kilby Spencer and The Crooked Road Ramblers warmed up before a set at the Rex Theatre in Galax. Photo was taken on March 27, 2012.
Andromeda, The Seven Sisters and The Mist
One of my favorite astrophotography works that I’ve done, this photo is actually a two photo panoramic composite. It is taken from Vine St. in Galax looking back towards the Pipers Gap area. Aside from the fog lying beyond the trees, it also contains two prominent astronomy icons. The Andromeda Galaxy in the upper center and The Pleiades just above the trees.
